Ethan is an Associate in the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) where he directly supports RMI’s Co-founder and Chief Scientist, Amory Lovins, and the OCS team with analysis, research, collaboration, and travel. Ethan is currently engaged in a number of RMI efforts to promote OCS collaboration with RMI’s broader programs. He has worked with RMI in 5 countries.
Ethan is passionate about catalyzing global solutions to climate change and getting to 100% renewable energy as quickly as possible to protect both humanity and all other species. Prior to joining RMI, Ethan has striven to find a niche combining his technical and people skills to do this. He’s worked as an engineer in robotics and solar, and he also spent a year traveling the US as a grassroots environmental organizer.
Ethan has a passion for understanding how systems work, solving problems, bridging cultures, building relationships, and bringing people together. He is fluent in German and knows beginner Mandarin Chinese. His passion to experience other cultures has led him to over 15 countries, including a 2-month trip across Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. He also enjoys deep technical work, project management, and strategic thinking. Outside of work, Ethan enjoys hosting game nights, singing karaoke, trying new restaurants, and forming meaningful connections with interesting people.
