  • Global South

Emma joined RMI in November 2022 as an executive assistant for the Global South team and is based in Boulder, CO. She works in close collaboration with other operation and administrative coworkers to organize internal and external meetings for Justin Locke. Furthermore, her diligence in expense reporting and other financial documentation helps progress the mission to support and empower climate-resilient, thriving Global South communities.

Background

Between the summers of her undergraduate years, Emma interned at the YMCA in The Gambia and Delsk in China. Her time abroad exposed her to nonprofit and research work that shaped her life toward international development. By 2021, Emma moved to D.C. and pursued a career in administrative/operational work for CIPE, a nonprofit international trade facilitation organization. At CIPE, she gained invaluable knowledge on the necessary internal collaboration for nonprofits. She also gained interest in environmental work while volunteering around the community. She transitioned her career toward environmental work by serving in AmeriCorps over the summer of 2022, which focused on extreme weather impact in Louisiana. Her experience and interest then brought her to RMI.
