Benson Kibiti is the Senior Program Marketing Manager of RMI’s Global South program. Benson leads overall marketing and communications strategies for the Global South Program by developing and executing strategic in-market campaigns and coordinating communications efforts across channels with other RMI programs including media relations, social/digital, events, direct communications, and strategic communications partnerships.
Background
Benson has over 12 years of experience in international development communications, branding, media relations, and digital marketing. He has a proven track record in delivering multi-channel media campaigns across environmental sustainability, clean energy, policy, health, and agriculture portfolios.
Prior to joining RMI, Benson was the director of communications at Power for All, an NGO working to end energy poverty by increasing and accelerating decentralized electrification solutions. At Power for All, he led internal and external communications, forged media relations, managed editorial calendars and digital content strategies, and produced thought leadership contributions about energy access that got featured on BBC, World Economic Forum, Quartz, CNBC, Africa Business Magazine, Forbes, Bloomberg, Devex, and other leading outlets.
Benson has worked with a range of nonprofits including Conservation International, UN Environment, and Caritas Internationalis, where he developed and executed communication strategies in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia that involved information dissemination, brand positioning, policy advocacy, fundraising, and relationship building with governments and philanthropic sectors.
