Ben Edgar is the Business Development Manager for Microgrids and Distributed Generation for Black & Veatch.
The Distributed Generation Service Area focuses on all phases of development, design, construction, monitoring, and operations of Microgrids and Distributed Generation Assets for utilities, developers and end users.
BACKGROUND
Prior to joining Black & Veatch, Ben founded and ran a Distributed Power Generation development company which focused on helping end users meet their electrical and thermal energy needs through Combined Heat and Power projects. Ben spent another 10 years with a separate consulting engineering firm in the utility, industrial and complex process industry. Prior to joining the energy industry, Ben served in the United States Army as a Field Artillery Officer.
EDUCATION
He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West point with a BS in Civil Engineering and the University of TN at Chattanooga with an MBA. He currently lives in Chattanooga, TN with his wife and three sons.
