As a former intern and part-time contractor, Akshay supported the American Cities Climate Challenge Renewables Accelerator initiative under RMI’s Urban Transformation program contributing research into unconventional renewable energy projects in the United States. During his time with RMI, he helped lead new research into the technical potential of landfill solar and best practices for cities and states to leverage closed landfills for solar.
