About This Event

Resource efficiency and digitalization are front and center at COP30 — in panels, in plans, in promises. But talk alone doesn’t power homes, irrigate fields, create jobs, or cut emissions. It’s time to move from words to action. The Digital Demand-Driven Electricity Networks Initiative (3DEN) is doing exactly that. Since 2021, 3DEN has been testing digital solutions that make power systems smarter, cleaner, and more resilient globally. Join 3DEN at the official launch of their second phase which is focused on turning ambitious goals into concrete results through pilot projects on the ground.

About 3DEN

3DEN is a joint effort between the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security, the International Energy Agency (IEA), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). 3DEN supports technological, policy and regulatory innovations aimed at accelerating the digital transformation and south-south learning. Phase II expands 3DEN’s reach to Brazil and seven African countries — Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Tunisia. It focuses on digitalizing energy systems, addressing infrastructure gaps, and enhancing energy flexibility where it’s needed most. It’s time to look ahead — to the second phase of 3DEN, and to the future of smart systems.
