Hara Wang

Hara is a former principal at RMI, and she held a leadership position in RMI’s Climate Intelligence and Third Derivative teams.

Background

Hara served as an investor and community builder for climate technology innovators. She cofounded and led Third Derivative, a global startup acceleration platform within RMI, where she and her team covered high-impact opportunities in industrial, building, transportation, electricity, and carbon removal technology. Prior to that, she led and supported early-stage venture capital investments at Braemar Energy Ventures, focusing on digital energy, advanced materials, and industrial decarbonization.

Hara also has diverse experience as a venture builder and operator. She supported strategy and business development at Eos Energy Storage, conducted supply chain market research at a Shanghai-based solar PV advisory firm, designed harvesting tools for Ivorian cocoa farmers, and volunteered as an engineer with the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia.

A chemical and civil engineer by training, Hara started her career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
